What are the two types of ISA ?

ANSI and ISA are both organizations that develop and promote standards in the field of automation and control systems. While both organizations have different names and focus areas, they share a common goal of ensuring that automation systems are safe, reliable, and compatible with each other.

ANSI is a private, non-profit organization that develops and maintains voluntary consensus standards for products, services, and systems in the United States. These standards are developed through a consensus-based approach, which involves a committee consisting of subject matter experts, industry representatives, government agencies, and other stakeholders. ANSI standards are comprehensive, comprehensive documents that outline specific criteria, specifications, or requirements for products, processes, or services. They provide a framework that enables businesses to establish compatibility and uniformity, ensuring that different components and systems can work together seamlessly.

ISA, on the other hand, is a non-profit professional association that focuses specifically on automation systems, instrumentation, and control. It sets standards and provides education and training for automation professionals worldwide. ISA has a more specific focus on the industry and manufacturing sectors, and its standards are designed to address the unique needs and challenges of these sectors.

While ANSI and ISA have different names and focus areas, they are both important organizations that play a critical role in the development and promotion of automation and control systems standards. Together, they help to ensure that automation systems are safe, reliable, and compatible with each other, ultimately leading to more efficient and effective systems
